The WOW study is led by a multi-disciplinary team from the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University and the Institute of Mental Health:

Louise Thomson

 

 

 

 

 

 

Louise is Assistant Professor in Occupational Psychology at the University of Nottingham and practicing Occupational Psychologist (CPsychol, HCPC-registered). Her expertise is in psychological, social and organisational issues in occupational health, mental well-being at work, job retention and return-to-work. She has worked with NICE to develop guidance on return-to-work after long-term sickness absence, and sits on the NICE committee developing guidance on mental well-being at work. She is currently a member of the British Psychological Society's Covid-19 Response 'Working Differently' group. She is leading the interview study within the WoW project.

Juliet Hassard

Juliet is an Assistant Professor of Occupational Health Psychology at the University of Nottingham. Her primary research interests are threefold: firstly, the development of interdisciplinary research to further understand the link between the psychosocial work environment and the health and wellbeing of individuals, organisations and communities; secondly, the integration of biomedical and psychosocial models to more fully understand gender and associated issues of diversity within the workplace, and investigating how these relate to the social patterning of health inequalities; and finally, the management of the impact of chronic health conditions on working life with the aim of facilitating and extending their engagement with work. She is leading the survey study within the WoW project.

Holly Blake

Holly is Associate Professor of Behavioural Science at the University of Nottingham. She is a chartered health psychologist with research expertise in workplace health and wellbeing, in particular the health and wellbeing of the NHS workforce. She has experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of workplace interventions for health and wellbeing, in particular for NHS workforce, but also across the public, private and third sector. Holly is currently engaged in several COVID-19 response studies looking at the impacts of the pandemic on employee health and wellbeing for within the public and private sectors.

Maria Karanika-Murray

Maria is Associate Professor in the School of Social Sciences, Nottingham Trent University. Maria's research interests include: determinants of workplace health and well-being, management of workplace health, job design and organisational climate, ageing and retirement, organizational health interventions, intervention evaluation methodology, presenteeism, addiction to work.

Wei Choo

Wei is a post-graduate researcher in employee well-being and also has an employment background in marketing. She is one of the researchers working on the WoW project.

Rich Pickford

Rich is Knowledge Exchange and Impact Officer at NTU’s Nottingham Civic Exchange. He is also National Collaborative Lead for the C-19 National Foresight Working Group. Rich takes the lead on facilitating connections between researchers, communities, business and citizens and maximising the impact of NTU’s Nottingham Civic Exchange's work.

Lou Rudkin

Lou is Head of Communications at the Institute of Mental Health and will manage the communications strategy for the project.
