An NIHR-funded project led by Professor Maddie Groom at the University of Nottingham and supported by the UK charity Tourettes Action, launched on November 1st, 2023. The ImproviNg Tic services in EnglaND (INTEND) study explored current service provision for tics and Tourette syndrome in England by contacting NHS organisations.

The risks and costs associated with undiagnosed ADHD and/or autism In the UK, there are over 2.5 million undiagnosed neurodivergent adults, who struggle to receive support.

The ORBIT (Online Remote Behavioural Intervention for Tics) trial was a multicentre randomised controlled trial designed to test whether a therapist-guided, parent-assisted online behavioural therapy could help reduce tic severity in children and young people aged 9–17 with Tourette syndrome or a chronic tic disorder.

Collecting Outcomes Digitally for ADHD (CODA) is a three-year programme of work funded by the NIHR Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration Mission, and NIHR MindTech HealthTech Research Centre, launched in February 2025.

ADHD affects both control of attention and impulse control. Because we tend to pay attention to what we are looking at, controlling where you are looking (oculomotor control) is a key aspect of attentional control.
