MindTech

NIHR HealthTech Research Centre Mental Health (MindTech) is a national centre focusing on the development, adoption and evaluation of new technologies for mental healthcare and dementia. It was established in 2013 and is funded by the National Institute for Healthcare Research (NIHR).

MindTech, hosted by the Institute of Mental Health, brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, industry and the public. It is one of eight centres in England, each concentrating on a different area of unmet need. MindTech is focused on mental health and dementia. It was re-commissioned for a further five years by the NIHR in 2017.

The workshop in May brought together experts from the University of Nottingham, King’s College London, and the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority (MHRA) to explore how researchers can ensure safety and efficacy in digital mental health clinical trials.

Researchers from MindTech have identified the top 10 questions that people with mental health problems, their carers and healthcare professionals want answered about how digital technology can help in treatment and management.

This video looks at the valuable role of the involvement team in the work of NIHR MindTech HTC and the BRC mental health and technology theme.
