Born quite a while ago in Lancashire. I have lived in Cheltenham, Birmingham and London before moving to Sheffield in 1991.

My jobs have included: insurance clerk, postman, child care officer, community worker, maths teacher, special needs teacher, research assistant & am currently a Research Fellow at University of Sheffield - doing a lot of statistics.

Interspersed across my working life I continued my post-18 education. A BSc in Psychology (1980), MSc in Research Methods (2005) & a PhD (2017).

I have written a number of papers on psychotherapy outcomes in routine services with a focus on therapist variability. My hobbies include art & reading (history in particular).
