OPTIMISE stands for Optimising Pathways of Psychological Care after Transient Ischaemic Attack and MInor StrokE and is led by Dr Eirini Kontou, Assistant Professor and Clinical Psychologist.

The purpose of Patient and Public Involvement in our research is to invite people with lived experience and expertise, who are not part of the study team, to advise on the study design and delivery.

The group provides feedback and consult on all aspects of the study by attendance to virtual and/or face-to-face meetings.

This is a confidential forum for discussion of issues arising from the research. Members of the group will be advised and involved in the dissemination of our study findings.

The University of Nottingham’s Stroke Research Partnership Group (NSRPG) gave us feedback on the design, methods, and potential impact of this research project. The NSRPG will continue to support the OPTIMISE study and we are grateful for their ongoing support for expanding our research for people who have experience TIA and minor stroke.
