As part of my ambassador role at Genius Within, I joined the National Steering Group for Tics & Tourette Syndrome because people like me shouldn’t have to rely on postcode luck to get a diagnosis or support.

I was diagnosed late in life — and that delay came at a cost. Emotionally, physically, financially. It’s a road no one should have to walk if we can change it.
That’s why I got involved — to help shape a fairer, clearer pathway for others. Not just for me, but for the next generation. Lived experience has to be at the centre of this. Early diagnosis, proper support, and being treated with dignity shouldn't be a bonus — it should be the baseline.
