A new paper from members of the Centre for Social Futures (SoFU) reveals the complex and challenging social life inside in-patient mental health wards.

Published in Frontiers in Psychology, their research is presented in the context of Covid-19, when many of us found ourselves confined to our homes, with limited social contact.

Much has been discussed about the negative impact this can have on our mental wellbeing, so this is a timely investigation, exploring the day-to-day challenges and social disconnection for those who are restricted to mental health units for lengthy periods.
