Professor Peter Bartlett (Centre for Mental Health and Human Rights) is working in partnership with the World Health Organisation (WHO) on a project called: WHO MiNDbank. WHO MiNDbank is an online platform for the sharing of key resources related to mental health, substance abuse, disability, general health, human rights and development.

About MiNDbank

Since its creation in 2014, MiNDbank has become an essential tool for supporting the work of policymakers, advocacy groups, academics and researchers. As a tool for advocacy, it allows people to identify the current situation, potential gaps in laws and policies as well as example of innovative policies and strategies, to develop effective actions and messages at the national and international level.  MiNDbank, which currently includes around 7500 resources, has been made possible thanks to the collective efforts of WHO Member States in sharing their national resources, with a view to achieving better health and human rights outcomes for all.

What is the purpose of MiNDbank?

The MiNDbank platform is the only single point, globally, to access all comprehensive information related to to mental health, substance abuse, disability, general health, human rights and development. It will:

  • Allow the sharing of key national resources and best practices across countries
  • Bring together the key areas of mental health, substance abuse, disability, general health and human rights to promote a holistic approach
  • Reduce fragmentation and duplication of information and efforts across and within countries
  • Facilitate advocacy
  • Promote research
