Projects that have involved members of the Centre for Mental Health and Human Rights:

  • Professor Peter Bartlett has provided advice on legal reform on projects funded through the European Union and the Council of Europe to the governments of Serbia, Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Professor Martin Orrell, IMH Director, is collaborating with the WHO on the INDUCT dementia care study (funded by the European Union Marie Curie Network), where the WHO is hosting secondments of students and providing advice related to training
  • Professor Mike Slade has a long-standing collaboration with WHO on implementation of peer support work in low and middle income settings, and chairs the European Network for Mental Health Service Evaluation (ENMESH)
  • Professor Jon Arcelus and Dr Walter Pierre Bouman have collaborated with the World Health Organisation in developing the new ICD-11 classification for the transgender population
  • Professor Kevin Browne has led a number of international projects relating to human rights for children including the 31 country European Union Daphne-funded projects which explored the institutionalisation of children
