Director for the Centre of Health and Justice Professor Eddie Kane was part of the CARA programme alongside experts at the University of Birmingham, Brunel University of London and CHANNON CONSULTING Ltd.

The CARA (Cautioning and Relationship Abuse) programme promoted behaviour change in first-time domestic violence offenders, and pilot schemes showed the project was remarkably effective at reducing reoffending. In addition, the programme also caused considerable savings for the two UK police force areas which were involved.
