An academic journal launched by Centre director Professor Eddie Kane has seen its Impact Factor rise in the latest release of figures.

The Personality and Mental Health Journal, launched 12 years ago, is now ranked 16th out of 65 in the Psychology, Social category, according to publishers Wiley. This is a significant rise from its previous position of 31.

The Impact Factor (IF) has also increased, from 1.929 to 3.816. IF is a way of measuring how often the average article in a journal has been cited (referenced by another paper) in a particular year, and is used to rank the importance of a particular journal.

Speaking of the new figures, Professor Kane says, "We set up the journal some 12 years ago and have put in a lot of effort into increasing its Impact Factor. With a special edition due out this year focused on an alternative personality disorder diagnostic approach being developed in the US, we expect the IF to increase again next time around."
