Dr Jen Yates is an Associate Professor in Mental Health and her work focuses on ageing, living with dementia, and health services research.

Jen has previously been involved in projects exploring the lived experience of apathy in dementia, the impact of receiving a diagnosis of dementia, adjustment to retirement, and how forensic mental health services are provided to older people living in secure settings and in the community. Jen uses qualitative and quantitative methods and particularly enjoys working with people with lived experience of the topic being explored.
