Lesley is an occupational therapist with 20 years of experience working primarily with community-dwelling older adults in an underserved population in Trinidad and Tobago.

Her current research applies a critical occupational lens combined with a human rights perspective to develop sustainable technology for people with dementia. She is currently a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Early Stage Researcher based at the University of Nottingham.

As a researcher in the DISTINCT (Dementia: Intersectorial Strategy for Training and Innovation Network for Current Technology) programme, Lesley is working on developing a digital self-management tool for use by people with dementia and their caregivers. Lesley holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA and earned a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Loma Linda University in California, USA.  She was the founding programme director of the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy programme at the University of the Southern Caribbean.
