Nottingham Lakeside Arts saw the successful premiere of a new, research-based opera on 2 April. 

‘Take Care’ was commissioned in 2018 by Professor Justine Schneider, from composer Douglas Finch and writer Cindy Oswin.  Based on field notes made during the BOUGH study of home care for people with dementia (funded by the NIHR School for Social Care Research, 2016-18) the aim of ‘Take Care’ is to shine a light on the complex job of home carers in dementia. The narrative follows a work-day for Katie Moore, sung by Nottingham-born soprano Donna Bateman.  Read all about the opera here.
